A family-friendly company policy has always been a concern of LTS Lohmann Therapie-Systeme AG. 12 years ago, the LTS board decided to establish a company kindergarten in order to provide employees with flexible childcare close to the company. This was planned in the course of the company expansion 2007 – 2009. The opening of the kindergarten took place ten years ago.
The company kindergarten got its name from a collection of ideas among the employees. The winner was “LTS Wichtelgarten”.
In the first year, LTS Wichtelgarten offered places for 15 children aged 2-6. In the meantime, the capacity has been expanded to two groups of 15 children each, who are looked after by 6 state-approved kindergarten teachers.
“Promoting the reconciliation of family and career was and is very important to us,” says Ulrich Sielaff, Member of the Management Board responsible for Legal Affairs and Human Resources. “The LTS Wichtelgarten offers parents with small children the opportunity to reconcile their working hours with the needs of their family. Due to their proximity to their workplace, many return to work earlier after the birth of a child. This is an advantage, especially in the current times of shortage of skilled workers.
After 10 years, LTS draws a positive balance. The demand for kindergarten places is high. In terms of employer attractiveness, LTS scores high, since childcare support can be a decisive factor in the choice of employer.
By the way, to mark the occasion LTS has developed a new logo for the LTS Wichtelgarten!
